In the spirit of Ramadan, the Perak Division of the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (KIMMA) joined forces with the Ehsan Group to spread joy and alleviate the burdens of 150 underprivileged Indian Muslim families. Held at the Sungai Siput UMNO Hall, this heartwarming event brought together community leaders and volunteers in a gesture of compassion and solidarity.
A notable presence at the event was Datuk Haji Abdul Hamid, the esteemed founder of the Ehsan Group. Reflecting on his organisation’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy, Datuk Haji emphasised the significance of their partnership with KIMMA over the past four years. Together, they have worked tirelessly to identify and support marginalised Indian Muslims. This event serves as a beacon of hope for many, signalling the beginning of a nationwide initiative to distribute gifts to 5,000 individuals across Malaysia.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Datuk Haji Abdul Hamid attributed their success to the grace of the Almighty and the unwavering support of social organisations and private businesses. Their combined efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by poverty, particularly during festive seasons like Ramadan.
Children were not forgotten in the festivities, as they too received gifts, adding an extra layer of joy and excitement to the event.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed figures from KIMMA, including Tuan Harris, Dato Anwar Sadat, and Hussein Jamal. Their collective dedication to serving the marginalised and underserved is a testament to the values of compassion and empathy that define the spirit of Ramadan.
