“Inimel,” is an upcoming album track that stars both acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj and actress Shruti Haasan. The song depicts both Lokesh and Shruthi as passionate and playful lovers in a modern setting. The teaser, released yesterday, has generated overwhelming intrigue among fans of Lokesh, who were shocked by this previously unseen romantic and intimate side of his. While the song lyrics were written by Kamal Hassan himself, the composition and concept of the track were done by Shruti Haasan.
Lokesh has been gaining massive acclaim for his previous films, such as Kaithi, Master, Vikram, and recently Leo. The director’s works predominantly centre around male protagonists, with a vast amount of violence glorified in his films. Due to the image and genre he has built around himself, audiences were shocked that the director could also emote himself in a romantic setting, which is a theme that is often unexplored in his own films.
The music video has been directed by Dwarkesh Prabakar, with cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda, editing by Philomin Raj, and art direction by Sowndar Nallasamy. The complete song and music video will be released on March 25th.
