Sivasangari Subramaniam Secures First Gold Title at GillenMarkets London Squash Classic Women’s Final

Sivasangari Subramaniam has etched her name in history once more, achieving a remarkable milestone in her career. The reigning National women’s squash champion, S. Sivasangari, clinched her first PSA World Tour Gold-level title at the prestigious Finals of the GillenMarkets London Classic championship. In a thrilling showdown held at the iconic Alexandra Palace, she showcased her exceptional skill and resilience, triumphing over the formidable opponent, world No 2 Hania El Hammamy of Egypt, in a fiercely contested five-game battle.

In a tightly contested match that unfolded over a span of 81 minutes, Sivasangari emerged victorious with a final scoreline of 11-9, 5-11, 13-11, 12-14, 11-8. Sivasangari, currently holding the 13th spot in the world rankings, showcased her exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament. In an impressive display of talent, she secured her place in the final by defeating the formidable world No 4, Nele Gilis of Belgium, in the semi-finals. Prior to this remarkable feat, Sivasangari stunned the squash world with a sensational quarterfinal victory over the reigning world No 1, Nour El Sherbini of Egypt.
