Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is ranked second in Asia for Petroleum Engineering (20th) and Taylor’s University is Asia’s third-best entry for Hospitality (19th) in the 2024 list, which also places Malaysian universities in the top 20 worldwide for two topics.

The rating provides unbiased information about the effectiveness of 240 programs at 25 universities in Malaysia.Malaysia has the third-highest performance rate in Asia and the sixth-highest globally.

Of its total ranked programs, 84 improved, 31 decreased, and 87 remained stable within their rank or band, resulting in a 22% overall improvement.

Thirty-eight programs also rank for the first time, with two newcomers to the top 50: Taylor’s University’s Marketing program, which debuts in the 21-50 band, and UM, which ranks 29th for its Data Science and Artificial Intelligence degree.

The University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) is Malaysia’s most improved university. It ranks 26 subjects, 12 of which increased, one of which decreased, and eleven of which remained unchanged, for a total improvement rate of 42%.
