Simbu is set to replace Dulquer Salmaan in the upcoming action-packed saga, ‘Thug Life’. Recent reports reveal that Simbu has successfully completed his first look test for the film, indicating a significant shift in the cast lineup after both Dulquer and Jayam Ravi had to opt out of the project because of date issues.
Having previously flaunted a long-haired appearance for his role in ‘STR 48’, Simbu might undergo yet another transformation for his character in ‘Thug Life’. This adjustment adds an intriguing layer of anticipation to the already eagerly awaited project.
Meanwhile, the collaboration between cinematic legend Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam continues to generate immense excitement among fans. The actor and director had previously collaborated on the hit 1987 film Nayakan, which was a massively influential film for Tamil cinema. Their joint venture, ‘Thug Life’, initially commenced shooting in January, with a hiatus anticipated until after the parliamentary elections due to Kamal Haasan’s commitments to his political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam.
Following the completion of his stint in ‘Thug Life’, Simbu is expected to return to his long-haired avatar for ‘STR 48’. This period fantasy film, featuring Simbu in dual roles, is helmed by Desingh Periasamy and produced under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International.
