Sundar C’s Aranmanai movie series is back with a slightly different plot.

Sundar C’s horror film is back in theaters. His first releases, Aranmanai 1 & 2, were blockbuster hits, but the last film (Aranmanai 3), released in 2021, received major negative reviews and was a flop. However, that did not stop Sundar C’s work on horror films, the announcement of the fourth part came out last year. Audience expectations were quite low after the last film.

Aranmanai 4 was released on April 3rd and is still running in theaters with positive feedback from the audience.

Although the movie started slow on the first day, it made a comeback on the second day as several positive reviews emerged, prompting audiences to watch it. Sundar C had clearly taken the criticism from the last film into account and made a comeback in this one.

About the movie:

The movie starred Sundar C, Tamannaah, Raashii Khanna, Santhosh Prathap, Ramachandra Raju, and a few more actors. Aranmanai is known not just for its horror plot but also for its comedy delivery. Every Aranmanai film has its own comedians and similarly the fourth film starred comedian Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, and VTV Ganesh. There were also special appearances by a couple of actors which turned out to be comedic scenes as well. Hip Hop Tamizha made a comeback into the Aranmanai by composing the music again after the second movie.

Sundar C’s Aranmanai series has always had almost the same elements two heroines, family sentimentality, a glamour song, and a climax featuring a devotional song. Just like that, Aranmanai 4 had similar elements to its previous films, but with a slight twist. The story of the film was different from the previous ones, which was unexpected for many audience. The movie had huge plot twists which was totally unexpected.

Plot of the film

The story revolves around Saravanan (Sundar C), who loves his sister Selvi (Tamannaah) unconditionally. When he discovers that his sister commit suicide, he goes to the village to find the reason behind her death and uncovers mysteries. The story of Aranmanai 4 unfolds there.

The plot of the film was quite interesting and the comedy, as usual was quite funny. The audience in the theater laughed wholeheartedly. It is definitely a family-friendly movie as it had sentiments of a mother’s love for her child. It was a complete entertainment film, receiving many positive reviews for the performances, graphics, and plot. Although some criticized the graphics and unnecessary comedy scenes the film was entirely entertaining.  Every climax of Aranmanai gives goosebumps and just as that the climax devotional ” Amman”, song featured Kushboo and Simran who danced really well. The film was well executed, in terms of plot, acting, background and graphics. The film ends with a glamorous song featuring Tamannaah and Raashii Khanna, composed by Hip Hop Tamizha.

Tamannaah’s acting as a mother, wife and a sister

Tamannah played a completely different role in this film as a mother of two and it was natural and well-done. She deserves applause for her performance in this role. While many didn’t expect her to play such a role, it suited her well. Tamannah’s role as a mom was a mixture of sentimentality, pain, and anger. This film is where we see Tamannaah’s different face of acting.  One of the song from the film, Jo jo was an soulful, emotional song and Tamannaah as a mom played really well that made the scenes look more emotional.

The Movie’s Success

According to reports, the film has collected around 10 crores in India and other countries and 34 crores worldwide in 3 days, which is definitely a comeback for Sundar C.
