Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris organized the “Innovation Creativity Competition 2024,” a national-level event held on May 4th, 2024. This competition was open to primary, secondary schools, and university students, with the theme centered around “Educational Innovation.” Participants were tasked with working in groups to innovate a project based on this theme and present their ideas at the competition.
A total of 200 schools participated in the competition, showcasing the widespread interest and engagement in educational innovation. Among these schools, SJKT Mahathma Gandhi Kalasalai from Sungai Siput, Perak, secured the fifth place in the competition, demonstrating their commitment to innovative educational practices. Four students from Year 4 Arivu at SJK(T) Mahathma Gandhi Kalasalai participated in the “Innovation Creativity Competition 2024”. The students, Irshitaa Pravi A/P Perekash, Vennmugilaann A/L Rajan, Bhavisha Nair A/P Sivakumar, and Tejaswini A/P Dorairaju, demonstrated their enthusiasm and creativity in the competition.
The students showcased their ingenuity with their project named “i – Magic Write” kit during the competition. This innovative kit aimed to enhance students’ writing skills through interactive and engaging activities. The students meticulously designed and presented the functions of their project, demonstrating a deep understanding of its potential impact on educational advancement.
Their dedication and hard work paid off when they were awarded Gold award, distinguishing them among 50 competing groups. Additionally, their remarkable achievement of securing fifth place further underscored the excellence and effectiveness of their project. Through their innovative endeavors, these students have not only showcased their talent but also contributed to the ongoing evolution of educational methodologies.
The students received training from teachers Mrs. Haahshini A/P Amirthalingam and Miss Pulomina A/P Joseph. These dedicated educators provided mentorship and support, nurturing the students’ creativity and helping them refine their project, the “i – Magic Write” kit. Their expertise and guidance empowered the students to showcase their innovative ideas with confidence and clarity during the competition.
The entire school community, including the headmistress, teachers, and fellow students of SJKT Mahathma Gandhi Kalasalai, were delighted to witness the success of their peers. Their encouragement and support contributed to creating an atmosphere of collaboration and excellence, where students are empowered to explore their creativity and achieve their goals.
