Hollywood Action Director Nick Powell to join Suriya and Janhvi Kapoor in a Bollywood film

This year is an exciting one for all Suriya fans. The actor is set to release “Kanguva” and is working on “Suriya 44” with director Karthik Subbaraj.

Actor Suriya made his Bollywood debut in 2010 with Ram Gopal Varma’s “Rakta Charitra 2.” He is now reportedly set to collaborate on a pan-Indian film with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film will feature Janhvi Kapoor as the lead actress alongside Suriya. Last year, Boney Kapoor confirmed that Janhvi Kapoor will star in a film with Suriya.

“She will also act with Suriya soon”. said Boney Kapoor.

In an exciting development for Indian cinema, renowned Hollywood stunt director Nick Powell, known for his work in iconic films like Braveheart , Gladiator and RRR by SS Rajamouli has been confirmed to join the crew too.

The film tentatively titled “Karna”, is a mythological period drama set to recreate a portion of the epic Mahabharata, focusing on the character of Karna. Reports suggest that this ambitious project will be produced on a grand scale with a budget ranging between 500 to 600 crores, making it one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. The project is planned as a two-part epic franchise, ensuring an extensive and immersive storytelling experience.

Producer Farhan Akhtar is reportedly backing the project, adding another layer to the film. The addition of Nick Powell to the crew has generated significant buzz, as his expertise in action choreography is expected to bring a new level of intensity and realism to the film’s action sequences. Powell’s previous work in RRR, a film that received global acclaim for its action scenes, further elevates expectations for Karna.

According to sources, Powell has already arrived in Mumbai to begin workshops and rehearsals for the movie. This preparation phase is crucial for a film of this scale, ensuring that the action sequences are meticulously planned and executed.

Suriya and Janhvi Kapoor

Suriya is now working on a few projects including Kanguva and a film with Sudha Kongara. On March, the actor posted a picture announcing Suriya 44 with Karthik Subbaraj. While, Janhvi is now working with Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan for a South Indian Film.
