Isaignani Ilaiyaraja celebrated his 76th birthday with a massive musical performance and even bigger way way to give back to community. Ilaiyaraja staged a concert in Chennai titled ‘Isai Celebrates Isai’, featuring his singers such as SP Balasubrahmanyam and KJ Yesudas.
After a magnificent musical extravaganza, Ilaiyaraja made a special announcement that he will be funding the the expenses to construct the cine musicians union and its trust building. He was greeted with many positive comments for his gesture, on top of all the birthday wishes rejoicing the special day.
The ‘Isai Celebrates Isai’ was also an unspoken ’forget and forgive’ moment between music legends SPB and Ilayaraja after a brief legal spat they had last year. The duo also worked on Vijay Anthony’s next film called Thamizharasan.
