Malaysian crooner Saran Narayanan was interviewed by Ashanti Omkar of BBC Asian Network yesterday. The singer-songwriter-composer also released his latest track, Mothal, on the globally broadcasting radio show based in London.
Saran rose to fame on the local music scene after he participated in Astro’s Paadal Thiran Potti back in 2003. While he didn’t win the singing competition, he went on to compose and sing some beautiful tunes, honing his true calling – making music.
During his interview with Ashanti, Saran revealed that the lyrics to his latest tune, Mothal, were partly penned back in 2012, but life took over for Saran, with his jingle production company, Opuz Entertainment taking center stage. According to him, he completed Mothal barely 6 weeks ago.
Mothal speaks for itself. It is a peppy track that is modern, laced with beautiful Tamil poetry. Saran’s smooth vocals coupled with the arrangement of the music make this tune one that you’ll want on repeat for a while.
Saran has been traveling through Europe for the past month, partly to film the video clip of Mothal. While there, he was invited to be a part of Ashanti’s radio show that focuses on South Asian independent music.
More updates to follow on this talented singer’s tune, Mothal.
