Sathya Sai Global Association of Malaysia, in partnership with the National Blood Centre (Pusat Darah Negara), will hold an important Blood Donation Drive 2024 on June 29th and 30th.
The “1 Pint Saves 3 Lives” drive will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Concourse Area, Level 2, KL Sentral station. Donors who successfully donate blood will receive a free goodie bag as a token of appreciation.
Beyond blood donation, the event strives to educate the community about healthy living, with a nutrition booth and free glucose readings for diabetes screening. Furthermore, a “Plant A Tree” booth promotes environmental consciousness by encouraging the people to grow trees at home and raising awareness about environmental protection. Additionally, contributors will be able to receive complimentary eye screenings.
To ensure donor safety and eligibility, individuals must weigh at least 45kg, be in good mental and physical health, be free of significant medical conditions, abstain from long-term medication, and refrain from consuming alcohol within 24 hours of donation. It is advised that donors have gotten enough sleep the night before more than 5 hours.
Optimax Eye Specialist Centre and Sena Cardiology Ambulatory Care Centre will be available to support from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.
