The 2023 SPM results were released yesterday, with 11,713 students achieving straight A’s, marking an improvement compared to last year. Notably, many Indian students performed exceptionally well, particularly those from Tamil primary school backgrounds. This demonstrates that the ability, talent, and intelligence of students from Tamil schools are on par with those from Malay and Chinese schools. Indian students from SMK Seri Puteri, who completed their primary education in Tamil schools around the Bentong area, have shown outstanding results in the SPM.
Three students from the school, namely Nesamani Victor, Anaga Letchumi Velayutham, and Bakiyaletchumi Arumugam, scored 11 A’s, marking an extraordinary feat and bringing pride to their school. Notably, Nesamani shared that she did not attend any tuition classes except for Additional Mathematics after her SPM trial exam. In her trial, she received an “E” in Additional Mathematics, but she achieved an “A” in the actual SPM exam. This demonstrates the hard work and effort she invested to achieve a good result. She thanked her teachers and parents for their support, guidance, and encouragement.
Additionally, Karthiga Neelamegam scored 10 A’s and 1 B, while Narmitha Ponniraja, Keshivinimalar Nallakumar, Bagavathi Karthigesu, and Kavishina Seenivasagam, the proud daughter of a security guard, each scored 9 A’s.
Speaking to Bernama, Kavishina said her parents had sacrificed a lot and, despite their struggles, never failed to meet her needs. She expressed her gratitude to her parents and teachers for their unwavering support.
At the same time, Thanu Akshay Sivasubramaniam from SMK Sungai Pari scored 9 A’s and was chosen as the best student of the school. He shared that he put in a lot of effort to achieve this result and is very happy with his accomplishment.
All the students thanked their parents, teachers, friends, and family for their support. They worked hard to achieve these excellent results, making their schools and parents proud. This demonstrates that a Tamil school education is not an obstacle for students who continue their secondary education in Malay medium schools. Tamil school students are performing exceptionally well academically, showcasing their ability to excel in their studies.
