“Star,” featuring Kavin and directed by Elan, premiered in theaters on May 10, 2024. The movie was highly anticipated, thanks to Kavin’s excellent performance in his previous film “Dada” and the intriguing storyline revealed in the trailer. The plot centers around a young man aspiring to become an actor. Upon its release, “Star” enjoyed a strong box office opening and garnered positive reviews. However, its theatrical run was shortened due to a crowded release schedule.

“Star” is now streaming on Prime Video, having premiered on the platform last night. The film’s unexpected OTT release, which occurred without any prior promotion, surprised fans. Nonetheless, Kavin’s “Star” is anticipated to captivate audiences on the popular streaming service, reaching an even broader audience.

“Star” had a robust opening at the box office, grossing over Rs 15 crore in its first week. However, attendance declined in the second week due to the release of several other films. Despite this, “Star” proved to be a profitable venture, with a lifetime collection of around Rs 23 crore. This made it the highest-grossing film of Kavin’s career, showcasing his growing popularity.

The film features Kavin, Aaditi Pohankar, and Priety Mukundhan in the lead roles, with Lal and Geetha Kailasam in supporting roles. The music, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, includes delightful songs and a memorable background score.
