Timothy Donald Cook, also known as Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, met with student developers who won this year’s Swift Student Challenge to kick off the WWDC 2024 events A developer from Varanasi, India, named Akshat Srivastava, 22, was one of these remarkable people. He was named a distinguished winner for his invention “Mindbud.” Akshat started learning to code at the age of sixteen under the influence of his brother. He is currently a student at BITS Pilani K K Birla College in Goa.
“After the meeting, Cook expressed, ‘I met so many extraordinary developers when I visited India last year, and I saw so much excitement for the many ways that technology can enrich people’s lives.’ He added, ‘And it was equally wonderful to meet Akshat this week and see how he’s created a whole new way to share his love of classic games with the next generation.'”

MindBud, inspired by Akshat’s fond memories of his nephew, attempts to immerse children in classic games and activities from his boyhood. The goal of the app is to develop in young brains both analytical and creative thinking. It has four entertaining mini-games that combine old-fashioned fun with contemporary technology, perfect for kids to play with friends and family.
Cook, struck by Akshat’s “creativity and determination on full display,” remarked, “Akshat is part of a growing generation of developers from all across India who are bringing their best ideas to life through coding, and making an important impact in their communities and around the world.”
Akshat has received an exclusive invitation to attend a three-day in-person experience at Apple Park during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) as a distinguished winner. This unique occasion will include specially designed programs meant to develop abilities and encourage creativity. Akshat is going to become a part of a worldwide network of creative people who share his interests and provide inspiration to each other. Having always had a fascination with technology, Akshat discovered that coding was a wonderful fit for him because it could solve problems in the real world and make creative ideas come to life.

Akshat is interested in publishing his MindBud submission on the App Store so that he can reach a larger audience and inspire more children with his creative and instructive games.
