Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s much-anticipated project “Purananooru” has been shelved indefinitely due to financial constraints. The duo, who previously collaborated on the National Award-winning film “Soorarai Pottru,” had announced “Purananooru” a few months ago. The film was set to focus on the anti-Hindi imposition movement in Tamil Nadu, sparking significant interest among fans and the industry. However, reliable industry sources have confirmed that financial limitations have led to the project’s indefinite postponement.
Despite this setback, Suriya and Sudha Kongara plan to collaborate on a different project in the future. This new venture will commence after Suriya completes his commitments to “Suriya 44” and “Vaadivaasal,” two highly anticipated films that are currently in various stages of production.
In the meantime, Sudha Kongara is busy working on the Hindi remake of “Soorarai Pottru,” titled “Sarfira,” starring Akshay Kumar. This film is generating considerable buzz and is slated for a July release. Fans of both Suriya and Sudha Kongara will undoubtedly be eager to see what new projects the talented actor-director duo will bring to the screen next.
