Isha is a spiritual organization dedicated to promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through a variety of programs and initiatives. Headquartered at the Isha Yoga Center near Coimbatore, India, the organization offers yoga and meditation practices rooted in ancient Indian traditions, tailored for modern lifestyles. In conjunction with the upcoming International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2024, the ISHA branch in Malaysia is organizing a Yoga Festival. On Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10am, there will be a meditation session for beginners at the Isha Yoga Center in Malaysia. This session aims to create peace and well-being, enhance mental stability, and develop mental clarity and focus. Meanwhile, on Friday, June 21, which marks International Yoga Day, they will conduct a session on Yoga for Mental Health at 7.30pm at the Isha Yoga Center in Malaysia. This yoga session is designed to bring stability to the system, provide balance to thoughts and emotions, and harmonize the body and mind. Additionally, it aims to alleviate psychological disturbances, fear, and nightmares.
On the following day, June 22, 2024, at 10am, Yoga for Wellbeing classes will take place. These classes aim to stabilize the body, mind, and emotions, providing relief from back pain, stress, anxiety, and tension, while fostering a lasting sense of peace, joy, and fulfillment. At 11.30am, there will be an Introduction to Inner Engineering class, which is a flagship program designed to provide insights into Inner Engineering and includes the Isha Kriya meditation. Following this, at 2pm, another meditation session for beginners will be held. At 4pm, there will be an Introduction to Hatha Yoga class, featuring a taster session for “Angamardana.”
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 9.30am, there will be a Yoga session for children. This session aims to bring balance to the system and promote psychological well-being. It helps improve weak body constitutions and immunity, while also enhancing thinking capacity, concentration, and memory. Following this, at 12pm, there will be a session called Food for Wellbeing, which will provide attendees with the wisdom of Yogic Science on food and its impact on the body, and will include nourishing recipes. At 2pm, another session of Yoga for Mental Health will take place.
Apart from all the programs at the Isha Yoga Center in Malaysia, those staying in Johor Bahru can also join this initiative. On June 22, 2024, at 2 PM, there will be a meditation session for beginners at the Infinite Learning Lab (TiLL) in Johor Bahru. Following this, Yoga for Mental Health will take place at 3:45 PM at the same location.
Moving to the north, on June 23, 2024, there will be a Yoga for Wellbeing session at SJK (T) Azad in Penang at 10 AM. Following this, a Yoga for Mental Health session will take place at 11:30 AM, and a Meditation for Beginners session will be held at 2:30 PM, all at the same venue.
These array of initiatives by Isha are set to grace the International Day of Yoga 2024, offering a diverse range of programs designed to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. All the programs are free of charge, making it accessible for the public to join and benefit from these enriching experiences.
