Dhivager Rathakrishnan, a nearly two-decade expert of the photographic profession, marked a major milestone last Saturday by launching his first Basic Gimbal session. The session, which took place on June 22, 2024, at Cloud 16, Ampang, attracted forty enthusiastic attendees who were interested in learning more about the craft of gimbal operation.
Dhivager’s kind greeting kicked off the program, fostering a spirit of friendship and education. The fundamentals of gimbal operation were presented to the participants, including important subjects such gimbal modes, basic movements, and efficient shooting tactics. This course stood out for its practical approach participants actively participated and came forward to put what they had learnt under Dhivager’s supervision into practice.

The “Creative Shots” portion was a highlight, as Dhivager demonstrated how to use gimbals to capture dynamic and artistic movies. The participants found great resonance with this session, which encouraged creativity and originality in their approach to videography.
Engaging games and challenges that not only reinforced learning but also promoted a sense of community among the attendees further increased the participatory aspect of the event. The success of the event was largely due to Dhivager’s team, which consisted of eight gifted people with a portfolio that included pre-wedding and wedding photos taken in far-flung places including Prague, Australia, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The event’s success was further bolstered by the support of key partners such as Sony, DJI, and YL Camera, whose contributions were instrumental in providing participants with access to cutting-edge equipment. Sony’s provision of cameras and lenses allowed attendees to explore a range of equipment options, while DJI’s gimbals enabled hands-on learning with state-of-the-art technology.
Behind the scenes, Dhivager acknowledged the dedication of his team, whose efforts ensured the workshop ran smoothly from start to finish. Their commitment and professionalism were pivotal in creating an enriching and memorable experience for all involved.
“The success of this workshop is a collective achievement,” Dhivager said. “I am immensely grateful to my team for their unwavering support and hard work. “Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about the future of photography and videography education.

Encouraged by the positive feedback and enthusiasm from participants, Dhivager plans to organize more workshops in the future, aiming to cultivate a community of skilled and passionate visual storytellers.
