One of 2024, most awaited Tamil Film is “Thangaalaan”. Directed by Pa Ranjith Thangalaan stars Chiyaan Vikram as the lead role. The historical action drama film is set to hit theaters on India’s Independence Day (August 15). The announcement comes after a series of delays from its originally scheduled release on 26th January 2024. The movie is confirmed to be release on 15th August by the films producer, Dhananjayan.

“Thangalaan” delves into the struggle and resilience of coal mining workers in the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) during the early 20th century. Vikram plays the formidable leader of a community battling the British Empire’s exploitation. The film promises a gripping tale of the marginalized communities contributions to the region’s gold exploration.
Star-Studded Cast and Crew
In addition to Vikram, the film features a stellar cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone and Hari Krishnan. Competing with Major Releases
The Independence Day release of “Thangalaan” sets up a box office clash with Hombale Films “Raghu Thatha”, starring Keerthy Suresh. Initially, “Thangalaan” was slated to compete with Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2”, but the date was pushed to 6 December 2024.

Fans can look forward to the official teaser release on 1st November 2023. Composer GV Prakash Kumar has hinted at an impressive background score and a mind-blowing trailer, set to be unveiled in July.
