“In ‘Kalki 2898 AD”, I have played a small role that appears for only a few minutes. My real part in the film has only begun, and I will have more to do in the second part,” Kamal revealed.
He expressed his excitement for the sequel, promising fans that his character’s journey is far from over. “So, I watched this film as a fan and I was astonished,” he added, reflecting on his experience of viewing the film from an audience’s perspective.

Kamal praised the film’s director, Nag Ashwin for his conscientious work in handling of the subject of mythology without religious bias.
“We have been seeing many signifiers that Indian cinema is moving towards global entertainment, and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is one among them,” Kamal stated.
He emphasized the film’s place within the rich tapestry of global storytelling traditions, comparing it to the narratives found in Japanese, Chinese, and Greek civilizations.

Released across multiple languages on June 27, the film grossed an impressive Rs 298.5 crore worldwide within its first two days.
