Federal Highway users should prepare for lane closures and traffic diversions this month to facilitate the construction of the LRT3 project, also known as the LRT Shah Alam Line. The lane closures will take place in stages from today July 5 to July 20 (Saturday), during nighttime hours from 11pm to 5am.

According to the notice posted by LRT3 page, Setia Utama LRT 3 (formerly known as MRCB George Kent), the closures will occur near the Petronas and Shell stations (Kuala Lumpur and Klang Bounds)

Closure Schedule:

Stage 1:  The leftmost and middle lanes, Klang-bound from today 5th July to 6th July 2024 will be closed. Only one lane will remain open for traffic.

Stage 2:  The fast lanes in both directions will be closed from 12 July 2024 to 13 July 2024. (Kuala Lumpur and Klang Bounds)

Stage 3: The leftmost and middle lanes (KL-bound), will be closed from 19th July 2024 to 20 July 2024. Similar to Stage 1, only one lane will be open for motorists heading towards KL.

These traffic diversions have been approved by the Malaysian Public Works Department. The LRT3 project aims to enhance public transportation infrastructure and the line is expected to start operations on March 1, 2025. The LRT3 project runs from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia in Klang, Selangor, and is a significant step towards improving the region’s public transportation network.

For further information, the public can contact the LRT3 helpline at 1-800-18-2585 from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
