With the rapid advancement of technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the new frontier, influencing all areas of life. In a recent conversation with producer Dhananjayan, actor, producer, and music composer Vijay Antony remarked that if AI ever dominates the film industry, he would turn to farming.
Directed by Vijay Milton, “Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan” features Vijay Antony in the lead role. The film initially included Vijaykanth in a significant role. Unfortunately, after filming one scene, the legendary actor’s health deteriorated, and he later passed away. The filmmakers considered using AI to continue his character in the movie but ultimately decided against it, believing that only his real-life presence could truly bring the character to life.
Emphasizing the impact of AI, the actor and composer expressed his concern about how technology is increasingly taking over human roles. He highlighted that while AI currently reduces the need for unnecessary manual labor, it still doesn’t completely remove humans from the equation. This balance, he believes, is crucial for maintaining the human touch in various fields. However, he also conveyed his apprehension about a future where AI could potentially make humans redundant.
In such a scenario, where technology surpasses the need for human involvement to the extent of causing widespread joblessness, he asserted that he would not hesitate to transition to agriculture and farming. This shift, he explained, would be a way to reconnect with the earth and engage in a fulfilling, hands-on occupation that technology cannot fully replicate. His statement reflects a broader concern about the ethical and societal implications of AI, urging a thoughtful approach to its integration into our lives.
The actor, currently occupied with promoting his upcoming film, “Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan,” shared that the movie revolves around a man who encounters difficulties whenever it rains. He mentioned that a series of dramatic events alter the protagonist’s outlook on life, leading him to become reclusive.
The actor explained that the filmmakers have taken a unique approach in his latest movie by not giving the lead character any lines for the first 40 minutes, establishing a foundation for his character’s aloofness. Directed by Vijay Milton, this action thriller features Vijay Antony, Sarath Kumar, Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, and Megha Akash in key roles.
