On Monday, the team behind Vikram’s film “Thangalaan” announced that the trailer would be released today, July 10. They have just posted that the trailer will premiere at 5pm IST, which is 7.30pm Malaysian time. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film is currently in the post-production phase, and the official release date has not been announced yet. However, there is speculation that the movie may be set to premiere on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day of India.
“Thangalaan” features Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan in prominent roles, along with Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan as part of the ensemble cast. Set in the early 1900s, the film unfolds against the historic backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). This historical adventure highlights the overlooked contributions of oppressed communities in the gold mining industry in South India.
“Thangalaan” is being produced by Studio Green and Neelam Productions. The film’s soundtrack is composed by GV Prakash, marking his first partnership with the director. Tamil Prabha serves as the co-writer, with Selva RK overseeing editing and SS Murthi in charge of the art department.
The film is scheduled for release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
