While there were updates on the sequel was being revealed, an tragic incident happened on set. A stuntman from the film, Elumalai fell 20 feet from a rostrum. The accident happened at LV Prasad Studios in Saligramam, Chennai, during the filming of an action sequence.
A press release was posted by Prince Pictures about the incident. It is said that after a stunt sequence was filmed, as the team was about to wrap up, the stuntman accidentally fell 20 feet from the rostrum and had severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital and getting medical treatment, Elumalai unfortunately passed away.
The police have been informed, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the shooting of Sardar 2 has been temporarily halted.
This unfortunate event highlights the risks involved in the film industry, particularly in action sequences, and underscores the importance of stringent safety measures on set. The entire film fraternity mourns the loss of a dedicated professional, and tributes have been pouring in for Elumalai from colleagues and fans alike.
