The accident happened at LV Prasad Studios in Saligramam, Chennai, during the filming of an action sequence.

It is said that after a stunt sequence was filmed, as the team was about to wrap up, the stuntman accidentally fell 20 feet from the rostrum and had severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital and getting medical treatment, Elumalai unfortunately passed away.
The police have been informed, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the shooting of Sardar 2 has been temporarily halted.
