Released by Y Not X, the movie is all set to be remade soon in Bollywood, with Kumararaja himself directing it.
Now, the movie is all set to receive international recognition.
The film will be screened at the prestigious 23rd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). The festival will take place from June 27 to July 7, 2019, in Bucheon city, Korea.
Anurag Kashyap posted a tweet congratulating the team for making it to the prestigious film festival of North America, He tweeted, “Super Deluxe by Thiagarajan KumarRaja to play at Fantasia .. that’s super.”
The film saw Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Bagavathy Perumal and Gayathrie Sankar among others, as part of its cast.
The film had Vijay Sethupathi playing a trans woman, a role that was well received by the audience and critics.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of the film. Directors Nalan Kumarasamy, Neelan K Sekar and Mysskin have written the additional screenplay for this film. The film was released in theatres on 29 March 2019 and received universal acclaim.
