Air Selangor Sdn Bhd has provided an update on the water supply interruption due to the temporary shutdown of the Rantau Panjang and Sungai Selangor water treatment plants. Following an odour pollution incident in Sungai Kundang, efforts are underway to restore water supply to affected areas.
Restoration Progress
All four water treatment plants are now fully operational, and clean, treated water is being distributed gradually. As of 6:00 am, the restoration progress in affected areas has reached 9.9%.
The expected progress are, 40% of restoration by 8am on 25th July 2024 (Thursday), 90% of restoration by 8pm on 25th July (Thursday) and the full recovery is said to be on 26th July 2024 (Friday), at 8am
The timeline for full restoration varies based on the location’s distance from treatment plants and system water pressure.
Air Selangor continues to prioritize critical areas, deploying water tankers to hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and funeral service locations. Seventeen Service Centers (SME) are also providing alternative water supply assistance for residents in affected areas.
