The STPM 2023 results, disclosed by Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman, Chairman of the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM), indicated that Malaysia’s national Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) rose to 2.84 from 2.82 in 2022.
Out of the total candidates, 1,116 individuals, constituting 2.70 percent, achieved a perfect CGPA of 4.00, marking a decline from 1,184 candidates in 2022. Notably, 803 of these top achievers (71.95 percent) were from the B40 category, as announced during the STPM 2023 Results Announcement Ceremony at MPM.
Dr. Mohd Ekhwan emphasized that 4,153 candidates (10.00 percent) attained a CGPA of 3.75 and above in STPM 2023. Additionally, 18,621 candidates (44.82 percent) achieved a CGPA of 3.00 and above, 24,428 candidates (58.79 percent) achieved a CGPA of 2.75 and above, and 37,428 candidates (90.08 percent) achieved a CGPA of 2.00 and above, demonstrating improvements compared to the previous year.
Jagineshwari Sugumaran, CGPA 3.17
Jagineshwari further shared the subjects she took in STPM, which were Pengajian Am, Sejarah, Ekonomi, and Tamil. “Both my parents provided unwavering support for me to achieve a good score in STPM, and my school teachers were another major reason for this, as I would always seek their help if I had any doubts in the subjects.”
She also mentioned that the tuition center she attended is run Negeri Sembilan Indian Graduate Association, where the tutors were very helpful for my achievements. Additionally, she emphasized that STPM would be the best choice for anyone looking to continue their higher studies.
Kishen Raj Kuzanthaivelu, CGPA 3.17
Kishen expressed his heartfelt thanks to his parents for helping him achieve a good score in his STPM results. He mentioned that his parents played a pivotal role and provided unwavering support towards his studies.
Thatcayinee Nadaraja CGPA 3.83
“Thatcayinee lost both her parents at a very young age and was raised by her uncle and aunt; despite this, she scored well in the STPM exam. ‘I studied diligently for STPM and achieved 3 A’s and a B+ in the exam.'”
Shalini Murugaiyah CGPA 3.25
Shalini shared her happiness after achieving a good score in the STPM exam, and she wants to continue her further studies in Economics or a teaching course.
Tharini Kumar CGPA 2.92
Tharini shared the efforts she put into scoring good marks in STPM. Despite not performing well in the previous semester, she dedicated herself to revising and attending tuition classes to improve her scores. ‘With the support of my school teachers, tuition teachers, and parents, I was able to achieve good results in this STPM exam.’
