List Of Food Banks And NGO’s That Will Help Put Food On Your Table

If you are blessed, you can bless someone else by contributing to any of the food banks or NGOs listed.

Amidst the extension of Phase 1 MCO 3.0 and the implementation of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), several businesses and NGOs have since stepped forward to help feed those in dire need. Like the millions of Malaysians classified as B40 – the bottom 40% of income earners witnesses some of the family’s sole breadwinners rely on daily wages as workers, and will be among those most affected by the constant lockdown.

We have curated a list of food-banks and avenues where the needy can receive aid and to those who wish to chip in some money to help them, do go through this list and who knows it might turn out beneficial for you, as you get an idea on the list of participating food banks and NGOs to make a contribution. Some of the food banks listed are outdoor shelves, so they are accessible 24/7.

Ampacto’s Food Bank Program

The Ampacto group have set up a food bank in Semenyih. Basic groceries such as sugar, rice, and sanitary pads are available to those in need.

Pit Stop Community Cafe – pitstopcafekl

With its FTN (Feed the Needy) service, this social enterprise has been feeding the homeless throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. They have distributed approximately 200 food kits to the needy every month.

Tempatan Fest, a local event organiser, is promoting over nine food banks around Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Pahang, and Melaka. They’ve been covering existing and new food banks, as well as keeping an eye on those who have been affected by the movement control order (MCO) and the COVID-19 outbreak.

Pop-Up Food Pantry 

The PWW Shop has launched a pop-up food pantry on its grounds for people in need, especially for those who are categorised as B40.

‘Help your neighbour, as you help yourself’, give your seat in the subway to someone who needs it, buy a coffee for a homeless man that you see, deliver food to any nearby orphanage or old folks home. Make someone smile, even for a brief second, and you will see how your day will change instantly for the better.
