Mahashivratri 2021 Fasting Timing & The Most Powerful Significant Mantras To Chant

Shivratri is one of the most important festivals commemorating Lord Shiva’s and Goddess Shakthi’s unification.

On Thursday, March 11th, 2021, MahaShivratri will commence.

For those who adequately perform and retain the rituals, the benefits reaped from Mahashivrathri can be extremely strong and fruitful. Staying awake on Mahashivratri night, chanting his vedic matras, listening to his songs, praying, and fasting are all esssential part of the festival.

Listed below are the fasting times based on their respective pooja timings:

  • Chaturdashi Tithi Begins: 05:09 PM on March 11 – Ends: 05:30 PM on Mar 12

  • Ratri First Prahar Puja Time: 09:00 PM to 12:00 AM, March 12 

  • Ratri Second Prahar Puja Time: 12:00 AM to 03:00 AM, March 12

  • Ratri Third Prahar Puja Time: 12:31 AM to 03:32 AM, March 12

  • Ratri Fourth Prahar Puja Time: 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM, March 12

  • Shivratri Parana Time: 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM, March 12

Lord Shiva is a symbol of compassion as well as the God of Destruction of Evil. The chants of Shiva prayers are normally acknowledged to eradicate fear and strengthen one’s inner power.

Here are five Shiva mantras to chant during the whole of Mahashivratri that will fully enhance your life:

Panchakshari Shiva Mantra:

Om Namah Shivaya

The meaning of the mantra is that we bow down to the ultimate Adhi Yogi; Lord Shiva.

This Shiva mantra is one of the most popular and effective mantra. Chanting this mantra 108 times a day will cleanse the soul and remove all sins and fears. This mantra, when repeated correctly, tends to induce relaxation while bringing spiritual wisdom and awareness.

Rudra Mantra:

Om Namo Bhagwate Rudraay

The mantra is depicted as bowing down Maha Rudra, Maha Shiva Peruman.

This chant is also known as the Rudra Mantra, and it is used to invoke Lord Shiva’s blessings. Chanting the Rudra Mantra will help you achieve all of your goals.

Rudra Gayatri Mantra:

Om Tatpurushaya Vidmahe Mahadevaya Dhimahi Tanno Rudrah Prachodayat

The mantra seeks for the devotee to grant them with deep wisdom and allow their heart to ignite to Lord Rudra.

Gayatri Mantra on its own is one of Hinduism’s most powerful mantras. Likewise, the Shiva Gayatri Mantra is immensely powerful. Those chanting it could obtain a sense of security and be blessed with greater intelligence and liberation of mind.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra:

Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityormukshiya Mamritat

This mantra holds a great value embedded to each of it’s word. The mantra means O three-eyed one, O Shiva, we honor and love you. You are life’s fragrance, nourishing us, restoring our wellbeing, and inspiring us to prosper. Free us from attachment and death, and do not withhold immortality.

If anyone develops a fear of an uncertain event, they should chant this mantra to enable them to free themselves and conquer their fears and regain strength.  Experts believe that reciting this mantra will help one with their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. This mantra is expressed to Lord Shiva in order to prevent untimely death and grant everlasting bliss with longevity of life.

Daaridrya Dahana Stotram:

Vashisthen Kritam Stotram Sarvarog Nivaranam, Sarvasamparkaram Shighram Putrapautradivardhanam

This is one of the best renowned stotrams written for Lord Shiva to proffer his devotees with a cure from all their ailments and receive abundance of positive prosperity.

The stotram holds an immense power to aid with the birth of a healthy child. Those intending to conceive or give birth, may chant this stotram to ease the process better.

Let’s celebrate this wondrous festival that eliminates all darkness and negativity that has befell over us, granting us with strength to regain positivity and combat any hurdles for a better start to the year.
