Prior to the pandemic, Malaysian students never failed to impress us with their wondrous and rewarding achievements and have constantly shone brightly in all sorts of fields including academic, entrepreneurship, pageantry, activism among others.

The million dollar question is this? how do they even juggle their educational journey in between one’s mental and physical exhaustion?

Well, let’s take a look and read on about the story of these dedicated duos who have made us proud through their educational journey.

Having graduated with a Masters in Corporate Communication, Umaa Saraswathy D/O Kumarasamy went through a tough educational journey due to her family situation.

It was a bittersweet moment for this 27-year-old young prodigy as she received her Masters award without being graced by the presence of her parents. She believes that she has made them proud. Coming from a middle class family, Umaa had lost her father two months ago and her mother was unable to attend the ceremony due to health issues.

Handling her office workloads, family commitments and at the same time assignment submissions was never an easy feat, yet she managed to overcome all the challenges and stood as a real ‘SINGAPPEN’ during the 45th Convocation ceremony.

Adding on another gem, Vaishnavi Nagaraja is among the six thousand over graduates who graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematical Science (Honors) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

“We should always remember that there’s no elevator to success. You have to make an effort and stay passionate in order to succeed in life. “

The 24-year-old recipient of the prestigious Royal Education Award has set out to tackle the world of education. The Royal Education Award which is also known as Pingat Jaya Cemerlang is one of the most prestigious awards, which is awarded to two of the outstanding students (one bumiputra and one non-bumiputra) from each public institution annually.
