A carnatic concert that addresses climate change is happening this weekend, and you are invited! Bhūmi will be held on Saturday, the 18th January 2020 at JKKN, Jalan Tun HS Lee, at 8.00 pm.

Brought to you by Aakaar, the brilliant minds who organised the successful carnatic concert Kannathil Muthamittal – A Bharathiyar Musical last year, Bhūmi is set to dissect the the issues devastating our planet, through music and poetry.

The organisers hope to raise awareness on the topic through music, through their 6th concert, Bhūmi. Staying true to their theme, Aakaar has waived the entry fee. They are, however, accepting donations that will be channeled towards the Australian bushfires.

The 5 segments in Bhūmi include the perspective of climate change from different generations in the form of poetry, story and a Jugalbandhi by two solo expert musicians along with accompanying instrument that depict the distinct similarity between the South and North Indian Classical singing styles.

Aakaar aims to spread its branches into the psyche of rasikas (a person who appreciates Indian classical music) by engaging artists of different musical backgrounds to create exemplary pieces that impacts the audience.WhatsApp Image 2020 01 16 at 10.44.15 2Bhūmi is a free concert, and donations are encouraged.
