Mani Ratnam, who’s not only backing Vaanam Kottatum, but also penning the story and dialogues along with the film’s director Dhana.

He recently visited the location.

“Mani Ratnam usually doesn’t visit the sets of a film that he’s producing, but since he’s also creatively involved in this project, he wanted to catch up with the team. It was a casual visit and he was accompanied by his wife, actress-filmmaker Suhasini. Dhana happens to be the filmmaker’s former associate and the two spent a good time chatting. Mani Ratnam and Suhasini also caught up with actors Sarath Kumar and Raadika, who play a couple in this film.”

The shoot of the film, which stars Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Madonna Sebastian and Shanthnoo, among others, has been on in full swing in Chennai.

“The idea is to complete major portions by this month. They will be heading to Tirunelveli for a week-long schedule after that.”

Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam is also keeping himself busy with the pre-production work on his ambitious adaptation of Kalki’s historical novel, Ponniyin Selvan.

The film is said to boast a cast that comprises stars from across many film industries, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Amala Paul, Keerthy Suresh and Mohan Babu.
