Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ boasts of a huge star cast and we had earlier reported that Rakul Preet has been roped in to play an important role in the film.
The pretty actress who will be playing Siddharth’s romantic interest in the movie has joined the sets of the film today. Rakul posted a pictures of hers from the makeup room on her social networking page.
Speculation is rife that Siddharth will play the grandson of the freedom fighter-turned-vigilante, Senapathi, who sets out on a mission to eradicate corruption in the society by killing corrupt government officials in the 1996 original.
While Kajal Aggarwal plays the female lead and also undergone training in Kalaripayattu, an Indian martial art, Priya Bhavani Shankar has also been roped into play one of the female leads in the film. She is also expected to join the shooting soon.
The movie also stars Siddharth, Aishwarya Rajesh, Vidyut Jammwal, Rakul Preet while veteran actor Delhi Ganesh is also part of the film.
Rakul had earlier said, “It’s a sequel to one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema and I’m really kicked about being a part of it. I was excited when I was offered the role because it’s a Shankar-Kamal Haasan combination and getting a chance to work with legends like that so early in my career is an opportunity I did not want to miss. Though I am yet to sign it officially, I’m looking forward to start shooting for it.”
While Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for the film, Ravi Varma will be handling the camera.
