WATCH: Malaysian Thiagaraja Subramaniam Sings For D Imman

Malaysian singer Thiagaraja Subramaniam’s song with popular composer D Imman has been released on YouTube. Thiagaraja made headlines earlier this year when D Imman took to social media to announce that he has discovered a singer in the former Malaysian truck driver.

The song, Bongu Bongu, is from the upcoming film Pon Manickavel that stars Prabhu Deva in the lead. Kabilan has penned the lyrics to this tune. The film is written and directed by A C Mugil Chellapan.

Thiagaraja’s rustic style of singing is brilliant, and delivers a beautiful bucolic feel to the tune. The video of the tune can be easily imagined, we’re thinking a colourful ‘thiruvizha’ with group dances and a manual ferris wheel as its backdrop.

Well done, Thiagaraja! We are eagerly awaiting your next song already.

Pon Manickavel is set to release in July 2019.
