Rejoice Astro Subscribers! Enjoy Exciting Pongal Special Shows

I’m pretty sure every Indian home will be filled with a full auspicious Pongal celebration this Friday. The Pongal celebration is nothing without the smoke smell from the clay pots all around the house, sweetness of hot Pongal and mouth-watering Indian delights.

It’s an absolute treat for our mouth but for the eyes? Don’t worry, Astro will be premiering some fun-filled local and international Tamil shows.

Here are the Pongal special shows that you can watch with your family while enjoying some sweet rice..bliss!

Ulagam Awards

The most anticipated award show will be premiered live on Astro Vinmeen HD (Ch 202) and Astro GO on January 13th at 9 pm. The inaugural Ulagam Awards will be celebrating high-quality local productions and talents.

Jaaliyaana Oru Ponggal

Jaaliyaana Oru Ponggal is a vibrant game show directed by renowned local filmmaker Karthik Shaamalan and hosted by famous local celebrity Magendran Raman aka Vikadakavi who also played a major role in ‘Kalyaanam 2 Kaathal’ series. Popular talents from ‘Kalyaanam 2 Kaathal’ season 2 series will be featuring Dato Geethanjali G, Yuvaraj Krishnasamy, Pashini Sivakumar, Ravin Rao Santheran, Dishaaleny Jack and more. Jaaliyaana Oru Ponggal premieres on January 14th, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen HD (Ch 202), Astro GO and On Demand.

Attagasa Ponggal 

The fun game show, Attagasa Ponggal is directed by local filmmaker Sathish Natarajan and hosted by popular local artists Denes Kumar and Uthaya (RAAGA). The show will present a fun and intense competition between local celebrities including James Devan Arokisamy, Revathy Mariappan, Yuvaraj Krishnasamy and Krithigah Nair. Attagasa Ponggal premieres on 15th January, 9pm on Astro Vaanavil HD (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.

Raam Leela Lock Down

This drama telemovie is directed by local talent Daven. R and featuring local artists Kuben and Hemaji in lead roles. Raam Leela Lock Down premieres on 16th January, 9pm on Astro Vaanavil HD (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.

On the 15th of January, customers can also look forward to the following premieres: Anbe Aaruyire, a Singaporean family telemovie, set for a 7pm premiere on Astro Vaanavil HD (Ch 201); and Comedy Mandram, a comedy discussion programme starring Madurai Muthu, Thangadurai, Manimegalai, and others, premieres at 9pm on Astro Vinmeen HD (Ch 202). Customers may also watch on-demand and through Astro GO.

On the radio, Malaysians can tune into Kavimaran, Yashini, Jay, Kogu, Suresh, Revathy, Uthaya, and Santosh Logandran sing Nalla Kaalam Porandachu, a special RAAGA Ponggal song accessible on-air, and the SYOK app, on RAAGA’s YouTube page, and on Facebook. RAAGA supporters may also watch a ‘Ponggal’ cooking competition involving local university students on RAAGA’s social media pages.
