Datuk Harjeet Singh Takes On Role As Newly Appointed Health Secretary-General

Harjeet was the ministry's Deputy Secretary-General (Management) previously to his current position.

On 11th April 2022, Datuk Harjeet Singh was announced as the new Secretary-General (KSU) of the Ministry of Health. Chief Secretary to the government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said that the appointment was effective as of yesterday (10th April).

Harjeet was appointed on 10th February to replace Datuk Seri Mohd Syafiq Abdullah, who is now the Director-General of Public Service (KPPA).

In regards to Datuk Harjeet’s new appointment, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali congratulated the appointment and informed that the appointment was made as Harjeet has extensive experience in planning, human resource management and policy and had served as the Director-General of the Public Complaints Bureau.

In the statement, he also said “I believe that with the experience, knowledge and credibility that Harjeet has, he is able to lead the MOH to provide services with integrity, efficiency and speed in line with the ministry’s slogan ‘We Are Ready to Help’.”

Harjeet was the ministry’s Deputy Secretary-General (Management) previously to his current position.

59-year-old Harjeet holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University, Columbus, USA and has worked in the civil service for 33 years, starting as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in August, 1989.
