Helmed by Pavithren, Aneethi Kathaigal happens to be one of the short films that brilliantly portrays the treatment of its homosexual characters which brought the attention of the audiences towards the much hyped film.

The depiction of Praveen’s character reinforces the image of a transperson as an effeminate man or a eunuch, who enjoys behaving like a woman. Well, it’s definitely a bold attempt by the entire team and surely the director himself came up with the idea of emphasising on a transgender character which was truly at the heart of this short film.

What made the writer get goosebumps while watching the film?

Well, as all of us know, a screenplay is an important element for a film and definitely the scriptwriter has penned it in a way that is related to our daily lifestyle. One of the dialogue which grabbed my attention was;

Religion and caste can change humans into a beast but only LOVE can change a beast into human!

Watch the full short flick below:

Featuring university students Praveen Kumar Munusamy, Tamilselvan Nagarajan, Pavithren Thiru, Dhaneish Kumar, Trickster Karan, Kesika AhnathaaRao, Preba, Manisa, Raj, Revin and many more young actors in pivotal roles.

The short film wouldn’t be a hit without a great team effort. Let’s give a special shout out to the entire crew members:

Audio : Harie

Make-up : Pavethra, Vishalini

Publicity designs & Colours : Loganathan

Choreography : Kesika Rao

Camera : Dhaneish

Story, Screenplay, Dialogues, Editing : Praveen / PK
