Hailing from Johor, Shebby died around 7pm while he was cycling in Sunway Iskandar due to a heart attack, stated the Iskandar Puteri district police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

Shebby made his first football appearance for the Southern State in 1978 as a defender. He played nine years of international football for Malaysia and was a South-east Asian Games gold medalist in 1989. After his retirement in 1996, he remained involved in football mostly as a pundit, appearing on Astro Arena and Astro Supersport among various TV networks.

Additionally, he was memorably appointed as global advisor for Blackburn Rovers in 2012 and also had a role at Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim. Shebby was also recruited as a worldwide adviser for Blackburn Rovers between 2012 and 2013.

Johor Darul Ta'zim FC are shocked to learn of the passing of former JDT Technical Advisor and Johor FA & Malaysia player Serbegeth Singh. The JDT Family would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Serbegeth. Rest in peace, Shebby. pic.twitter.com/JmKxg18NoZ
