In an extraordinary milestone, the screenplay of Dhanush’s 50th film, Raayan, has been selected for inclusion in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library. This marks a significant achievement not just for Dhanush but also for Indian cinema, further highlighting the global recognition of its storytelling mastery.

Raayan, released theatrically on July 26, has received an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences and critics alike. Dhanush, who both starred in and directed the film, has made a huge impact at the box office, with the film surpassing ₹50 crore (nett) in India. This success underscores Dhanush’s multifaceted talent and his position as one of the most versatile actors in the industry.

Raayan Joins Esteemed Company in the Academy Library

Raayan being apart of the Academy library is a testament to its exceptional storytelling and cinematic quality. It joins a select group of Indian screenplays that have been honored in this way. Last year, the screenplay for “Parking”, directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan and featuring Harish Kalyan, Indhuja, and MS Bhaskar, was also added to this esteemed collection. Additionally, the screenplays of “Joram”, “Last Film Show”, and Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Vaccine War” are part of the Academy’s Core Collection, showcasing the growing influence of Indian cinema on a global scale.

Raayan has not only captivated audiences but has also garnered widespread acclaim, positioning itself as one of the highest-grossing films of Dhanush’s illustrious career. The film, an action-packed saga, features Dhanush in the lead role and a stellar ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, and Prakash Raj. The film’s music, composed by the legendary AR Rahman, adds another layer of depth to its cinematic experience.

The news of Raayan‘s screenplay being selected for the Academy library has taken the internet by storm, further elevating the film’s status. This recognition is particularly noteworthy as Dhanush himself penned the screenplay and directed the film, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. With multiple National Awards already to his name, this latest accolade adds another layer to Dhanush’s cap, marking his place as one of the finest actors and filmmakers in Indian cinema.

As Raayan continues to soar to new heights, its inclusion in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library stands as a proud moment for Dhanush and the entire Indian film fraternity. This achievement not only celebrates the success of Raayan but also highlights the global appeal and recognition of Indian cinema. With Raayan setting new benchmarks, the future looks incredibly bright for Dhanush and the Indian film industry as a whole.
