AirAsia is strengthening its network between Malaysia and India by launching a new route to Port Blair in the Andaman Islands. This move reinforces its status as a top low-cost carrier in the region. Notably, this route marks a milestone as AirAsia becomes the first and only airline within ASEAN to offer international flights to Port Blair, making it the shortest Indian service in its network.

Beginning on 16 November 2024, AirAsia will operate three weekly flights to Port Blair, making it the airline’s 17th destination in India. This addition enhances AirAsia’s already expansive network in India, which includes cities like Chennai and Amritsar, bringing the total to 91 weekly flights across the country.

Located within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, Port Blair has long been a dream destination for travelers eager to explore its untouched waters and vibrant marine life. The city is a favored beach retreat for Indians from all over the country, and now, with AirAsia’s direct flights, visitors from Malaysia and beyond can also immerse themselves in its beauty and allure. Whether exploring the island’s historic sites or kayaking on its crystal-clear waters, there’s an adventure waiting for everyone. The Andaman Islands are also home to ancient tribal communities that have lived there for centuries and are protected by the Indian government.

To commemorate the launch of this new destination, AirAsia is offering promotional fares from Kuala Lumpur to Port Blair starting at RM199 all-in* one way. These special fares are available for booking on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as airasia Superapp) or airasia.com from today until 19 August 2024, for travel between 16 November 2024 and 25 October 2025. All Malaysians are eligible for visa-free entry to India for tourist visits of up to 30 days until 30 June 2025.
