Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is set to premiere in theaters on October 10, 2024. The film will be released in four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. It will face off against Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’, which is also releasing on October 10. Yesterday, on August 19, Lyca Productions unveiled a new poster featuring Rajinikanth to announce the release date of ‘Vettaiyan’. Once the Kollywood audience noticed the date, it confirmed that ‘Vettaiyan’ and ‘Kanguva’ would be releasing on the same day. The announcement has since gone viral on social media.

Earlier, the makers of Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ announced that the film would hit theaters on October 10. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja mentioned that they chose this date after believing that ‘Vettaiyan’ would be postponed.

However, the makers of ‘Vettaiyan’ have also confirmed October 10 as their release date. This announcement has sparked excitement among fans, as two major Kollywood films are now set to clash. The first half of 2024 was relatively slow, with fewer releases and no major star-studded films. Now, the impending showdown between a Superstar film and a Suriya film has added a new level of anticipation among Kollywood fans. Whether ‘Kanguva’ will be postponed remains to be seen.
‘Vettaiyan’ will showcase Rajinikanth in the role of a police officer. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film stars Rajinikanth alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in key roles.
