The Road Transport Department (RTD) has extended its counter operating hours by an hour in selected states, starting Monday, August 19, to better accommodate customer needs. RTD Director-General Aedy Fadly Ramli announced that the extended hours will apply every Monday and Friday in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Penang, and every Sunday and Thursday in Johor.
“These days are considered high-traffic, with a significant number of customers. The extended operating hours will be gradually implemented in RTD offices across other states as well,” he stated in a release today.
Aedy Fadly also announced the formation of a Governance Committee aimed at improving the quality of RTD services, particularly in counter-service delivery. The committee will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and enhancing government services on an ongoing basis.
He stressed that the RTD is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of service to ensure the well-being and comfort of the public. This commitment aligns with the vision of Malaysia Madani, which focuses on creating a progressive, just, and compassionate society. By continuously enhancing service delivery, the RTD aims to contribute to the broader goals of the nation, prioritizing the needs and satisfaction of the people.
He further stated that the RTD is committed to improving the quality and efficiency of its services, especially at all service counters, as outlined by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the announcement of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) at the 19th Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam 2024 yesterday.
“The RTD expresses its deepest gratitude to the Prime Minister and the government for the positive news regarding salary adjustments for the Implementing, Management, and Professional groups, as well as the Top Management within the civil service, including RTD staff,” he said.
The Road Transport Department’s (RTD) proactive measures, including the extension of counter operating hours and the establishment of a Governance Committee, reflect its unwavering commitment to enhancing service quality and efficiency. These initiatives, aligned with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani, underscore the RTD’s dedication to prioritizing public well-being and satisfaction, while also acknowledging the government’s support through recent salary adjustments for civil service groups, ensuring that the department continues to serve the nation with excellence.
