This year, the auspicious Vinayagar Chaturthi festival falls on 7th September, which is tomorrow. Vinayagar Chaturthi is a sacred day dedicated to Lord Ganesha. One of the most prominent temples in Malaysia, the Courthill Sri Ganesar Temple, also known as the Pudu Vinayagar Temple, is preparing to celebrate the occasion with great devotion and festivity.

The temple, renowned for its rich history and strong following, will host a grand Vinayagar Chaturthi celebration. As part of the festivities, a special chariot procession will be held, allowing devotees to participate in the sacred journey of Lord Ganesha through the streets, invoking blessings for prosperity and good fortune.

Special prayers will be held at the temple today at 4pm, followed by the flag-raising ceremony (Kodiyetram) to mark the beginning of the festival. Following that, at 7.30pm, the chariot procession will commence. Lord Ganesha will journey through Kuala Lumpur on his Golden Chariot, blessing devotees along the way.

The Vinayagar Chaturthi festival will be celebrated with great grandeur starting from the morning of 7th September. Since it falls on a Saturday, a larger number of devotees are expected to visit the temple. In response, the Devasthanam has implemented necessary measures to ensure their safety and well-being.

Tan Sri R. Nadarajah, the president of the Maha Mariamman Devasthanam, extends a warm invitation to all devotees to participate in the prayers and receive the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
