Kamal Haasan and director Shankar joined forces once again this year for the highly anticipated Kollywood sequel, ‘Indian 2’. While their 1996 film ‘Indian’ became a cult classic, the sequel fell short of expectations. Fans are now eagerly awaiting ‘Indian 3’, and rumors suggest that the next chapter, titled ‘Indian 3: War Mode’, might bypass a theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT platforms.

As reported by ‘Valai Pechu’, the filmmakers are contemplating an OTT release for ‘Indian 3’. This move could be driven by the lukewarm reception that ‘Indian 2’ received at the box office. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers regarding this decision yet.

‘Indian 2’ showcased Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, a vigilante determined to fight corruption. Filled with intense action sequences, the film concludes on a cliffhanger, teasing the possibility of a third installment. The post-credits scene of ‘Indian 2’ offers a glimpse into ‘Indian 3: War Mode’, further heightening audience expectations.

Earlier reports suggested that the third part would explore Senapathy’s younger years and his experiences during wartime. The film also starred Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Bobby Simha in pivotal roles, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Thug Life’, directed by Mani Ratnam. Meanwhile, Shankar has recently completed filming ‘Game Changer’, a political drama starring Ram Charan, which is set to release soon. The film also features Kiara Advani in a prominent role. Additionally, reports suggest that ‘Indian 3’ has already been filmed, with only post-production work remaining. However, fans will need to wait for official updates from the filmmakers.
