Shruti Haasan is on a roll!
The actress has been roped in to be a part in an upcoming American TV series, titled Treadstone. An action drama, this one is based on the Bourne film series.
The series revolves around the origin and present-day functioning of a CIA Black ops program called ‘Treadstone’, which trains its recruits to become nearly superhuman assassins.
Shruti plays Nira Patel, a young girl whose job as a waitress in Delhi serves as a cover for her double life as a trained assassin. Ask her about bagging the series and she says, “Oh yes, I auditioned for the role. I have wonderful agents in America, who put me forward for the role. I loved the auditioning process and I’ve learnt a lot about myself through it. The series will be shot all over the world and I’m really excited about it.”
Penned by Heroes creator Tim Kring, the series stars Jeremy Irvine, Brian J. Smith, Omar Metwally and Tracy Ifeachor.
Shruti will begin shooting for the project from the first week of July in Budapest.
Considering that she is playing an assassin, Shruti has begin training for her role. “Yes, there’s a lot of prep work and there’s a lot of training involved. As you can imagine, the series will be filled with riveting action. I’ve always loved physical work and have always done my own stunts.” she said!
