Indian youngsters are achieving remarkable feats and breaking barriers in Malaysia across various fields, including education, talent shows, and sports. In this context, three young athletes have been chosen to represent Malaysia in the Asia 7s Championship 2024: Kisshaen Ananthan, Navin Das Arokiadass, and Muhd Nazri Yunus.

Kisshaen Ananthan, 28 years old, is a full-time player for JDT Futsal, showcasing his exceptional skills and commitment to the sport. Alongside him is Muhd Nazri Yunus, also 28, who plays for Canaan Football Club as a part-time player while managing his own mamak restaurant, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit alongside his passion for football. Lastly, 25-year-old Navin Das Arokiadass plays for Kuala Lumpur City Futsal as a full-time player, contributing to the team’s success with his dedication and talent. Together, these young athletes exemplify the diverse paths and talents of Indian players in Malaysia.

Navin Dass Arokiadass

Canaan Football Club, established in 2018, is a futsal club dedicated to developing quality players capable of competing at the highest levels of the sport. Based in Puchong, the club has steadily grown and made its mark in Malaysian futsal.

This year, Canaan FC took a significant step forward by participating in the Malaysia Premier League Division 2, where they finished in an impressive 5th place. The club’s success is a testament to their commitment to nurturing talent, as seen in players like Kisshaen Ananthan, who now plays for JDT Futsal, and Navin Das Arokiadass, currently with KL City Futsal—both of whom developed their skills at Canaan Football Club.

Kisshaen Ananthan

The foundation of Canaan Football Club’s success lies in the vision and dedication of its key figures: Mr. Sudhar Sanan and Ananthan. Their leadership, along with the guidance of coaches Kelvin Stephen and Iskandar Abdullar, has been instrumental in shaping the club’s players and driving their development. Canaan Football Club continues to be a force in Malaysian futsal, producing exceptional talent and pushing the boundaries of the sport.

Muhd Nazri Yunus

The Asia 7s Championship is set to take place at the EV Arena in Elmina from October 10th to October 13th. This highly anticipated competition will see participation from eight teams, including Japan, India, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, and the host nation, Malaysia.

Representing Malaysia, the national team will be led by head coach Sulaiman Husin. The championship promises to be an exciting event, with top teams vying for the title in what is expected to be a thrilling series of matches.

The involvement of Indian boys in representing Malaysia at the Asia 7s Championship 2024 is a moment of great pride for the nation and the Indian community. Their dedication and hard work have earned them the opportunity to showcase their talent on an international stage, reflecting the growing contributions of the Indian community to Malaysian sports.

As they step onto the field to represent Malaysia, we extend our best wishes for their success. Their journey serves as an inspiration to many, proving that with perseverance and passion, boundaries can be overcome and remarkable achievements made.
