S.Sivasangari, Malaysian squash player, has went into the quarter finals at El Gouna International Open in Giza, Egypt, following determination on court and unforeseen developments off it.

She was initially set to face Mariam Metwally, another Egyptian, in the 2nd round. Metwally earlier advanced after winning against Zeina Mickawy in first-round match. However, the tournament took an unexpected turn when Metwally withdrew following her sudden passing of her father. Even though, she completed the game and secured a win, Metwaly withdraw from the tournament to be with her family.

Sivasangari advances to the quarter finals as a result. White the progression comes under unfortunate circumstances, she remains focused on the competition. She is now going to be facing Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini, the 8th time world champion. As Sivasangari’s journey in El Gouna continues, she looks to make a deep run in the game.
