Kisona faced off against Azerbaijan’s Keisha Fatimah in the final match held in Hertogenbosch on October 27. This victory marks Kisona’s first title since she won the Spain International in 2021. Additionally, it is significant as it is her first triumph since departing from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) at the end of 2022.

At the age of 26, Kisona has made history by becoming the first Malaysian woman to claim a senior international title this year. Currently ranked No. 101 in the world, she showcased her skill and determination by finishing the final match in a swift 41 minutes. Her impressive performance not only highlights her athletic prowess but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring badminton players in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in her career and the nation’s sports history.
