Tamil Hip Hop King Yogi B Lends His Powerful Voice to ‘Viduthalai Part 2’ with Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s Composition

Malaysia’s very own rapper, Yogi B, widely regarded as the Godfather of Tamil Hip hop, is a trailblazer in the genre and a household name in the global Tamil music scene. Renowned for his groundbreaking contributions, Yogi B has been a driving force in elevating Tamil Hip hop to international recognition, inspiring countless artists and fans around the world. Once again, Yogi B has proven why he remains a dominant figure in the Tamil Hip-Hop movement.

Yogi B has achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious career by lending his voice to a composition by the legendary maestro Ilaiyaraaja. The rapper has performed a solo track titled ‘Poruthadhu Podhum’ for Vetrimaaran’s upcoming film ‘Viduthalai Part 2’. This sequel follows the success of ‘Viduthalai Part 1,’ which was widely acclaimed and featured an impressive cast, including Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, and others.

The sequel, Viduthalai Part 2, is set to grace the big screens on December 20, 2024, much to the anticipation of fans. Yogi B’s involvement in the film’s soundtrack, particularly under the legendary composition of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, is a reflection of the exceptional talent of our homegrown artists. It stands as a proud moment, showcasing the capability and global potential of Malaysian talent in the world of cinema and music.

The audio track ‘Poruthadhu Podhum‘ is now available on YouTube, and it’s nothing short of electrifying. This high-octane song features Yogi B’s commanding voice, delivering a performance that is both motivational and stirring. His powerful vocals bring the impactful lyrics to life, immersing listeners in the raw emotion and intensity of the message.

Notably, this isn’t Yogi B’s first collaboration with director Vetrimaaran. He previously lent his voice to the evergreen hit ‘Engeyum Eppothum’ from Vetrimaaran’s debut film ‘Polladhavan,’ which starred Dhanush and was released in 2007.

Yogi B continues to cement his legacy as a trailblazer in the Tamil Hip hop scene, demonstrating his versatility and influence with each milestone. With his powerful contribution to the electrifying track ‘Poruthadhu Podhum,’ Yogi B proves once again why he remains a dominant force in the industry.
