The success of ‘Amaran’ has garnered widespread acclaim, earning praise not only from audiences and critics but also from government officials and prominent politicians. In recognition of the film’s achievements, the team—including actor Sivakarthikeyan, director Rajkumar Periasamy, and producer Mahendran—had the honor of meeting Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh at his office. The Minister congratulated the makers for the remarkable success of ‘Amaran.’
Previously, the Officers Training Academy presented Sivakarthikeyan with a memento in recognition of his portrayal of Major Mukund Varadarajan.

Released worldwide in theaters on October 31, ‘Amaran’ is now entering its fifth week, continuing to make waves. The film features Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi as his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese. Bhuvan Arora plays Sepoy Vikram Singh, while Rahul Bose portrays Colonel Amit Singh Dabas, Mukund’s commanding officer. The supporting cast includes Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, and Gaurav Venkatesh. ‘Amaran’ is inspired by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s acclaimed book, India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military.
‘Amaran’ delves into the life of Mukund Varadarajan, showcasing his dedicated service in the army and his courageous role in the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion stationed in Jammu and Kashmir. The film also highlights the profound bond between Mukund and his wife, Indhu.
The crew of ‘Amaran’ features GV Prakash Kumar as the music composer, CH Sai as the cinematographer, Kalaivanan as the editor, and Stefan Richter as the stunt director. The film is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Sony Pictures International Productions. Following its tremendous success, the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitor’s Association has formally requested the makers to delay the film’s release on OTT platforms.
