In recent times, many Indian children have been excelling across various fields, not just in academics but also in sports and other pursuits. Among these remarkable young achievers is Rahini, an extraordinary 8-year-old who has reached impressive milestones at such a tender age. Born as a preterm baby, Rahini’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. She began her early education at a preschool managed by her mother and was homeschooled through Wolsey Hall London, an online school, for two years. Currently, she is thriving in Grade 3 at BXCL, an international school in Penang, showcasing her exceptional abilities and potential.
In addition to being a prodigy in academics, Rahini has accomplished feats well beyond her age and capabilities, leaving everyone astonished. At just 8 years old, Rahini has designed flashcards and educational worksheets to help young learners master the alphabet, numeracy, sight words, and sentence construction, showcasing her creativity and dedication to education.
Rahini is not only a young achiever but also an entrepreneur and edupreneur. She is the founder of Gen Alpha Publication and Gen Alpha Preschool, the latter established in 2024 and set to begin operations in 2025.
When asked how Rahini came up with the idea to establish ‘Gen Alpha,’ her mother shared that from a young age, Rahini was exposed to an early learning environment and learned teaching methods, including how to design worksheets, from her mother. She absorbed every aspect of communicating with parents, explaining curricula, and understanding the importance of teaching aids.
During school holidays, Rahini began creating word cards and videos to show how to teach young children using the cards she designed. She also developed numerous math worksheets, lesson plans, and teaching aids, which she presented to her mother as samples to be used in her school. Rahini even insisted that her mother print and sell her books at local bookstores. Additionally, she planned to distribute her flashcards for free to preschool children. This passion and dedication ultimately led to the creation of Gen Alpha Publications.
The name “Gen Alpha” was chosen because Rahini belongs to Generation Alpha. She loved the name when she first heard it and decided to adopt it, with the logo designed in her favorite colors. All of Rahini’s work is sent for editing and printing, and it will soon be published with the approval of the National library (Perpustakaan Negara).
Rahini dreamed of having her own school and making a difference in the lives of young learners. She had a clear vision for how she wanted the school to be run, including the types of books and activities to be used. She envisioned colorful books to captivate children’s attention and, more importantly, the integration of smart technology in teaching.
At such a young age, her forward-thinking ideas inspired her mother and well-wishers to help turn her dream into reality. Gen Alpha School is set to open in 2025, with a focus on incorporating technology in education. The books written by Rahini, along with some modifications, will be part of the curriculum at Gen Alpha. Her flashcards and books will be officially published during the opening of the school in 2025.
Gen Alpha Preschool is a well-equipped institution offering both half-day and full-day daycare services for children aged four to six. The curriculum is centered around the concept of “learning through play,” and the preschool incorporates smart technology in its daily teaching and learning activities.
In addition to this, Rahini is preparing to publish her first book, in collaboration with her mother. Together, they have created an engaging and imaginative children’s storybook titled Adel and The Dino Surprise, which features illustrations by a renowned illustrator from the U.S. The book will be published and printed in hard copy for sale in Malaysia starting in January 2025, and will also be used in Gen Alpha Schools. Rahini’s mother plans to release the book as an eBook on Amazon as well.
In addition to these achievements, Rahini has thought ahead and plans to launch her own YouTube channel and website to publish educational videos. Her parents have stated that they will soon be making this a reality for her. Rahini’s long-term goal is to obtain a professional doctorate in education. She aspires to open many Gen Alpha Preschools, both in Malaysia and internationally.
Rahini has received several accolades for her extraordinary achievements. She was selected to receive the Asian Education Awards 2024 in the category of Rising Star in Education Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Although she was unable to attend the award ceremony, her award will be sent to her. Additionally, Rahini has been recognized in the Amazing Malaysian Book of Records as the First Genius Kid, Young Creative, and Talented Child Entrepreneur.
When asked how proud she is of witnessing her daughter’s incredible achievements, Rahini’s mother shared, “I’ve always wanted to be a great role model for my daughter, and that has been my motivation for achieving success and receiving awards. I even continued my Doctorate studies so she would follow in my footsteps. The encouragement and motivation I’ve given her since she was young have clearly paid off. I often say that this is a blessing from my late father, who taught and guided her before she even started preschool. He inspired her through role play from a young age, and today, she has become the young founder of a premium brand.”
Rahini’s achievements at such a young age are truly inspiring and reflect her exceptional talent, determination, and passion. Her journey highlights the power of early education, creativity, and a forward-thinking mindset. With the unwavering support of her family, Rahini has already begun to make a significant impact in the fields of education and entrepreneurship. Her story serves as a reminder that with hard work, dedication, and a clear vision, anyone can overcome challenges and achieve their dreams, no matter how young they may be. Rahini’s future holds great promise, and she continues to inspire others to reach for the stars.
